Eduardo was born in Brownsville, Texas on August 23, 1949. He graduated from Brownsville High School in 1968 and enlisted in the United States Marine Corps as an Aviation Electrician. After serving in the USMC he was hired at Control Data Corp where he spent 5 years as a Customer Engineer. He then joined Amdahl/Fujitsu where he spent almost 40 years as a Field Engineer until his retirement in 2018.
Our beloved father was a hard-working man who loved his family dearly. He was a soft-spoken kind generous soul, who was loved, admired and respected by all. His presence will forever be missed by those who were blessed to have known him.
Eduardo is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Ester Alvarado Orive, daughters, Monica Orive (Tony Cantu), Yvonne Schiller (David), Elizabeth Reyes (Joe), and 8 beautiful grandchildren, Kayla, Alyssa, Brooke, Stacy, Derek, Anthony, Jacob and Braylin.
Eduardo is also survived by his siblings; Lydia O. (David) Trevino, Irma Orive, Susana O. (Rosendo) Garcia, Samuel (Yolanda) Orive, Adita (Oscar Guajardo) O. Lucio, and Febe (Billy Lopez) Orive.
Eduardo is preceded in death by parents, Julian and Aurora Orive, brother, Julian Orive Jr. and sister, Yolanda Orive.
Serving as pallbearers are Samuel Orive, Tony Cantu, David Schiller, Joe Reyes, Eddie Garza, Alyssa Gutierrez and Anthony Cantu.
A visitation for Eduardo will be held Monday, March 1, 2021, from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 2, 2021, at 9:30 AM followed by a private committal service at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery.
