Edward Raymond Bruni, Jr., 63, has left the loving arms of his wife Deborah to enter into Paradise on March 16, 2021. Born February 8, 1958, in Tacoma, Washington, he was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Edward Raymond and Anna Maria (Tafi) Bruni, as well as his dear grandparents, and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his devoted wife Debbie, Eddie is survived by his brother Antonio (friend Cyndi Ryan), sisters Fiorenza and Brunella, niece Sienna, and nephews Vito and Daniel. He also is survived by his in-laws Gale and Judy Bullard, sisters-in-law Shari Bullard and Leigh-Ann (Ken) Black, niece MacKenzie, and nephew Colin Black, and niece Kyleigh (Nick) Lahvic.
An important highlight of Eddie’s life was his deep connection to his mother’s family in the Tuscan community of Santa Maria (Empoli, Florence, Italy), where he travelled often. There, he is survived by his Bella Zia Gina, his cousins Alberto, Marina, Francesco, Laura, and Anna Tafi.
To those who knew Eddie (known as “Bruni” by his friends), he was an unforgettable character, full of quick wit and enduring charisma. He had an infectious smile and an expressive face that could charm even as he was rolling his playful eyes, exclaiming “Que Gaucho!”
Bruni attracted and retained lifelong friends, many of whom came to visit in his final days.
After 30 years with the USPS, he retired in 2013, continuing to enjoy his many activities and interesting hobbies. Bruni was gifted in his passions, like his keen interest in cars, collecting coins, jewelry, and firearms, playing poker, and wheeling and dealing in antiques. You could even find him selling tickets and handling box office duties at events, and at Christmas he was the best Santa ever as he distributed toys and treats to friends and strangers alike. Some of Bruni’s most shining moments occurred as Finance Minister during the reign of Rey Feo Bill Drain, a duty he performed with great pomp and enthusiasm. His loved ones will grin broadly remembering him in full regalia. All will miss him terribly.
With deepest appreciation, Eddie’s family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to his doctors and friends at The START Center for Cancer Care for their love and support during this challenging year.
