He was married to Carolina S. Herrera on June 20, 1987.
Better known as Eddie, a family man, his legacy in life was always to take care of family first. He took pride in devoting his life to hard work and providing for those dearest to his heart. His fun loving attitude and carefree smile could make anyone in his presence feel at ease. He not only encouraged those around him with his quirky words of wisdom, but also shared his experiences and opened his heart if he knew it could help.
His passions included gardening, fishing, family vacations to the beach, and cooking for all those that entered his home. For those who spent time with Edward, it wouldn't take them long to figure out that stories of military combat and the history of war could peak his interest at any given moment. He was proud of his country and where he came from and even prouder to be a father of a Marine soldier. Eddie not only taught those around him to never give up on their dreams, he also displayed courage and strength until his final days. He was a man who cherished all the people close to his heart, by never taking anyone or anything for granted.
Edward was preceded by his father and mother Fedencio and Blasa Herrera and his sister Helen Diaz.
He is survived by his wife; Carolina; daughter, Kara; son, Elliott; one brother, Arthur; four sisters, Debbie, Liz, Nancy, and Stella.
