A beloved, son, husband, father, grandfather and a brilliant businessman, he was the great-grandson of Adolf Heusinger and Anna Louise Haenel and the grandson of Edward W. Heusinger and Teodolinda Bruni. In addition he was a descendent of the original Canary Island settlers of San Antonio.
He was the owner of Heusinger Hardware Company, which had been in his family for 4 generations.
He was a graduate of Central Catholic and a graduate of Texas A&M University. He credited A&M for having a profound influence on his life.
He was a former member of the Texas A&M Board of Regents, The 12th Man, the San Antonio German Club and The Alhambra.
Edward is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Pruny; his precious mother, Rosemarie Gregg; daughter, Rose Marie and husband Chris Nellis; son, Patrick and wife, Sharon; grandchildren, Daniel, Adriana, Brendan, Anise, Colette, P. J., Andrew, Michael and Emma; one sister, Anna Louise Bernhart and one brother, Felix Heusinger.
