Edward Emmet Lee Jr. was born in San Antonio, Texas on March 24, 1933 to Anona Haag Lee and Edward Emmet Lee. He is survived by his wife, Patsy Lee and their children Edward Lee III and wife Nikki; Deborah Lee; grandchildren Mark and Matthew Cooley and great grandson Noah Cooley. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend that will be missed. Ed graduated from Alamo Heights High School, then set sail with the United States Navy, serving in the Korean War. After serving 37 years in the United States Navy, Ed retired as a Command Master Chief. During his military service, he developed a passion for the game of golf and was able to play on many courses around the world.
After retirement, Ed became involved with the San Antonio Conservation Society, including years of dedication to A Night In Old San Antonio as a volunteer with the stagers and a tour guide. He was a Mason for over 50 years. As a Mason, Ed was a member of the Scottish Rite and the Alzafar Shriners. Most recently, Ed supported the Alzafar Shriners and served on the Directors Staff, the Golf Unit and Patrol; participated in the Rod & Gun and Hillbillies. He was also a member of the Jesters, the Q, and Sojourners.
The Graveside Service will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 3, 2018 at Sunset Memorial Park with Navy Honors. Ed’s Celebration of Life will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2018 at 3:00 pm at the Alzafar Shrine Temple, 901 North Loop 1604, San Antonio, TX 78232.
