Edward (Ed) McCarty

Edward (Ed) McCarty, age 91, left his earthly home and was received into his Lord and Savior's loving arms on August 26, 2017. Ed was born in Fort Worth, Texas on April 18, 1926. Ed is survived by his beloved and devoted wife, Betty, of 69 plus years and one son, Robert. Two sons, Paul and James preceded Ed in death. Special Consideration and love go to the Dr. John Beard and Mr. Jerry Duffer Families.

Ed graduated from TCU on August 31, 1946 with a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in Biology and Chemistry. Ed was in the TCU Marching Band while in college.

Ed started working in Fort Worth, Texas and maintained a successful 45-year career in Management with NCR/ATT. Ed worked with wonderful people in his working life. Ed was a productive leader and led by example.

After retirement, Ed worked five years as the Treasurer for Boysville and volunteered tirelessly at the Trinity Baptist Church library. Ed was a faithful servant for the Lord at Trinity Baptist Church, where he was a lifetime Deacon, played in the Church orchestra, sang with the Sanctuary Choir and Sunshine Singers and went on numerous mission and music ministry trips. Throughout his life, he played the piano and clarinet including playing for the San Antonio Community band.
