Diagnosed in May 2024, Eddie fought like a warrior, determined to overcome his illness, driven by the deep love for his wife, Belinda, and son, Rafael.
Eddie was born on December 11, 1972, in Austin, TX, to Pablo and Mary Ochoa. He graduated from Texas State University with a degree in business management. Over the years, he built a successful career, serving as Vice President at Garcia Foods and previously working at Jardines Food, Inc. He was highly respected by colleagues for his leadership and dedication.
Eddie lived his life with a gentle, loving spirit and was known for his kindness to everyone he met. He shared a deep passion for sports, especially UT Longhorns football, with his mother, sister, Christine, and son, Rafael! Faith was a cornerstone of his life, and a commitment he and Rafael shared together as altar servers at St. Jose Luis Sanchez del Rio Church in San Antonio.
Eddie is survived by his beloved wife, Belinda; their son, Rafael; his sisters, Christine and Ruby Ochoa; many cherished nieces, nephews and their children, and many friends and colleagues, all of whom will forever hold him in their hearts. Eddie is reunited in heaven with his parents, Pablo and Mary Ochoa; and his brother, Pablo (Paul) Ochoa.
The family would like to thank all of the doctors, nurses, staff and the oncology care network at San Antonio’s Methodist Hospital, with special gratitude to Eddie’s 8th floor “heroes” for their commitment, compassion, love and support. Thank you!
Eddie’s gentle presence, unwavering love, and enduring kindness will be missed by all who knew him. May he rest in eternal peace.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting any donations be made to The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in Eddie’s honor.
