

Ed graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and served in the U.S. Navy during Korea and WWII. He returned to San Antonio where he got his Bachelor's Degree at Trinity University where he was very active in the theater program and acted in numerous plays there and within the city.
Ed was very active with Laurel Heights United Methodist Church and served in many ways. He was always at his grandson's ballgames to support and cheer him on. He was a Master Mason of the Davy Crockett Lodge #1225 AF&AM, as well as a Shriner at Alzafar Shrine. He retired from USAA in 1993 after 25 years of loyal service.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Arlene Althaus Pendleton.
Ed is survived by his daughter, Lisa Townzen and husband, Brock; grandson, Garrett Townzen; brother-in-law, Dudley Althaus and wife, Cookie; numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m., Monday, August 1, 2016, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.
The service will be held Tuesday, August 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Laurel Heights United Methodist Church, 227 W. Woodlawn.
Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
