

Edythe K. Botto, age 95, of San Antonio, died Monday, September 13, 2004 at the Incarnate Word Retirement Community.
She was born Edythe K. Stephens, the daughter of Albert and Hattie Stephens at the Kotula residence on 4th and Broadway on November 11, 1908.
She attended grades K thru 3 at St. Mary's School, grades 4 thru 7 at Incarnate Word and grades 8 thru 12 at Our Lady of the Lake. She was a beautician and Homemaker.
She was a very active member of the Altar Societies of St. Mary's and of Our Lady of Grace Churches. She was also a dedicated member of the Vineta Lodge of Hermann Sons of Texas.
She had many other memberships in service and charitable organizations too numerous to mention. Edythe was always a cheerful and generous individual who supported her church and her community in many ways.
She was especially proud of her loving son, Louis A. Botto, who was the founder of the world-renown vocal ensemble, Chanticleer.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Louis T. Botto and children, Louis A. Botto and Elizabeth Botto.
Survivors include nephews and nieces, Richard Best, Price Fessenden, Helen Pfeil, Jeanne Rodgers, Barbara Morris and Alice M. Van Matre; first cousin, Cecilia Donegan; godchild, Loretta Ellerbee; daughter-in-law, Janna Blanchard; other cousins and a host of dear friends too numerous to mention.
