

Eileen Krug Stewart was born in St. Louis, Missouri on October 11, 1927. As the only girl in a family with two boys she was special to her father Eugene Krug. Eugene and Irene DeManse Krug moved their family to Memphis around 1940-41.
Eileen joined and trained with the Army Nurse Cadet Corps in 1944, becoming an RN. In the early 50's she married Robert Stewart, who served as a civilian supply specialist with the U.S. Air Force. They moved to Mobile, Alabama and were transferred to San Antonio, Texas in the early 1960's. They were avid golfers.
Eileen worked at Methodist Hospital in San Antonio for many years as an O.R. nurse and supervisor. In the early 80's she became the O.R. Supervisor for Ophthalmology at the University of Texas Health Center.
She served for many years as an extraordinary minister of communion at St. Luke's Catholic Church. After retirement she continued to enjoy golfing and playing cards with friends. She also enjoyed traveling with her cousin, Linda.
She is survived by her younger brother, Larry Krug and his family, and the family of her older brother, Clifford Krug, most of whom live in and around Memphis, Tennessee. She also leaves behind many grieving cousins and friends.
