

Elda was born to Ignacio Longoria and Elia H. Longoria, August 27th, 1931, in Aguilares, Texas. She graduated from Martin High School in Laredo, Texas in 1950. She married Jose A. Garcia in 1953, and they lived in San Antonio, Texas. Together they raised five children.
She is survived by: Her five children, Jose A. Garcia Jr. (Ida), Yolanda E. Torrez, Raul R. Garcia (Vicki Jo), Graciela A. Gomez (Domingo) and Eduardo I. Garcia (Lynda).
She also leaves to cherish her memory: Ten grandchildren: Monica, Jose Jr. III, Marquize, Cheyenne, Raul Jr., Gazelle, Anri, Domingo Ben, Meriza, Jenny and their significant others. Seven great grandchildren: Rene, Evianna, Mia, Maven, MarQuel, Matthew, and Luke. Three great-great grandchildren: River, Delaney and Zayden. Also her brother Ignacio Longoria, Jr. and her sister in law Anna Almaraz, and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by Jose A. Garcia (Spouse), Ignacio Longoria (Father), Elia H. Longoria (Mother), Elva Ornelas and Elma Soulas (Sisters), Cora Valentina Garcia (Great granddaughter).
She is now reunited in heaven with her husband and many loved ones who went before her.
Elda worked as a civilian employee for Kelly Air Force Base under several different directorates and retired in 1990. In 1975, along with her husband, they became co-owners of Royal Palace Ballroom (A venue for weddings and other special events) in San Antonio, Texas and successfully continued to grow the business for several years.
She was ahead of her time, career minded, very creative, loved all genres of music, and loved to cook for the kids in the family. Her food specialties will be missed, such as her pan seared steaks, chicken fried steak, tuna patties, Grandma’s buttered toast, lemon meringue pie, banana pudding, and coffee cake.
She lived 94 wonderful years and will always live in our hearts.
