'As Kristin's fiance I only knew Eleanor for a short time and wish I had the opportunity to get to know her. But, as I spend time with Kristin and Karen day by day I experience the amazingly deep LOVE and STRENGTH that Nana enriched into the lives of those in her family! I now realize that every moment that I spend with the family I am getting to know Eleanor Brunkhorst! Nana....you are greatly loved and missed by your family! Thank you for having and raising such beautiful women that glow on the inside and out! We love you!

'It has been a few months since she has passed, and she is missed more than words can say. I spent a lot of time with her, and I cherish every moment. We will miss you so much!!!'

'I knew Eleanor for only the last few years of her life. But in those few short years it was clear to me that she loved her family, her dog "punkin", and the deer that came to visit each and everyday. It was hard to see her transition and prepare herself for the afterlife. She did this with grace and I know she is where she wants to be now.'

'She is the most wonderful mother a child and adult can have. Her love was never ending and from her I learned that when we put others first we receive blessings two fold in return. Her wealth was in her caring for her family. She gave to us unselfishly and asked only that we would spend time with her when possible. We all loved NaNa and will always keep her in our hearts. Mom had the most wonderful attitude towards life and not once did I hear her talk badly about anyone. When we kids would have arguments, she would stay neutral on the subject. I think of her constantly and look forward to being with her again. It has been so difficult adjusting to her being gone but fortunately I see her daily in many of the things around me. Kahki loves you NaNa.'

'To my loving Mom and best friend. It has now been three months since the Lord took you home. It is still hard to believe that you are not here when I come home from work. I keep thinking that when I get home I'll be blessed by your beautiful smile and I'll be able to give you a hug and kiss and tell you how much I love you but I was very blessed for 48 years of you being my Mom. You are forever engraved deep in my heart. You have taught me and given me so much that there are no words to express my appreciation. Thank you for teaching me about unconditional love and dignity.
