It is with deep sympathy that I send my condolences to all of the family. I can remember going back to the good old days when we all once lived in the neighborhood. Mr. Vasquez Lolo was a barber at the Randolph AFB Barber shop for more than 40 years. Highly regarded by his loyal customers, upon his retirement they really missed his faithful presence, haircuts, and good conversation. All of Lolo's co-workers looked up to and respected him. We were saddened to hear of his passing, but we know his hope was in our Lord.

I'd like to remember "La Familia" outings, like going to the Guadalupe River for swimming and good food. A lot of primos, tios and tias, so much fun. Tio Lolo was very much a part of the "Abuelito Alfonso Hernandez Family" and we will miss him a lot.

I just wanted you to know that you and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers. I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Vasquezs' two sons Eleodoro and Gary for more than 20 years and they are very fine men. I am sure that they are a reflection of their father.

My Dad was the most noble man I know. He was a man of faith,honor,integrity and one who displayed his love by his actions. He worked two jobs to provide for his family. I thought I was rich when growing up, because we had everything we needed and then some, especially the love and support of a father. He would always call us "mija" and we would always call him "daddy". I'm going to miss my father very much, but I know that he is with our heavenly Father. Daddy, I can hardly wait to see you again. Mom is in good hands. I love you more than you will ever know.

Whenever any of the grandkids had some big news we just HAD to share it with Grandpa. He would exclaim with such pride and emotion 'AAAYYY, Que BUENO mija!' or 'EEEE LO!' He had a way of making you beam from the inside out! He also loved his great grand kids just as much, always showering them with love. Although my husband wasn't able to accompany me on my San Antonio visits from Austin, Grandpa would always ask 'How is Jonathan? Tell him Hello for me' with sincere interest and affection. My wonderful mother Yolanda took great care of my grandparents full time after they both fell ill a few years ago. On our last couple of birthdays, she would gather them all around the phone to call and sing Las Mananitas to us. This year my daughter Alyssa was there recording a video when he was practicing the guitar in preparation to play and sing over the phone. It was one of the most beautiful things I have ever seen. My grandpa taught me that anything is possible, family is love, and hard work pays off. Any new car purchase was not complete without a blessing with holy water from Grandpa, it just made me feel so much safer on the road. Now I have my Grandpa as a guardian angel to protect me always. I love you so much Grandpa! We'll see you again one sweet day! Yvette Flores Boatwright

To my wonderful Grandpa Lolo, we all loved you dearly and we will remember you fondly. You were the most loving man and I am a better person for having known you. I'll think of you often and with many fond memories.

My Father was an awesome man. Dad, I cannot say goodbye, I'll see you later.

When my dad was in the hospital, he left a message on my phone that said, "Yolanda, this is your daddy. There is a storm so please be careful." My daddy was very sick in the hospital, but he was still calling his little girl to be careful. I LOVE YOU VERY MUCH.
