Elias Garcia

Elias Garcia, age 79, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2020, in San Antonio, Texas. He was born January 20, 1941 in San Antonio to Maria Delgado Garcia and Mauricio Garcia. After graduating from Burbank High School, he served four years in the United States Air Force. Following his service in the Air Force Elias continued to service his country and community in other ways, working for the Federal Government in finance and logistics, Bexar County and NEISD as an instructor. He received a degree from Southwest Texas State University. He self-taught himself to play the guitar and piano. He spent time as volunteer in a program designed to teach a second language and taught GED classes. Elias did these things because he loved people and he loved people because of his love for God. Second only to his love for God was the love he had for his family who will miss him tremendously.

He is preceded in death by his parents and 4 siblings Abram, Dora, Antonio, and Mauricio. Elias is survived by his wife of 58 years Amparo Garcia; daughter, Yvonne Cravatt, and husband Leslie; grandchildren, Justin, and Cameron Cravatt; brother, Ramon Garcia; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a lifetime of friends.

Interment will take place at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery.
