Elida Ruth Falcon: Born Elida Ruth Zuniga 30 January 1928 in San Angelo, Texas, Ellie was the youngest daughter of 10 children of Domingo C. Zuniga of Del Rio and Maria C. Garza of San Angelo. She passed 29 April 2020 of multiple organ failure.
Ellie married Joe L. Falcon, also of San Angelo, in 1947 and they had 7 children together. Ellie followed Joe through his career in the Army. They lived in Texas, Louisiana, Georgia, and Tennessee. After Joe retired from the Army, Joe and Ellie moved back to San Angelo for 20 years. Ellie was never one to sit idle; she was always busy, either at home or working. Ellie was always a contributor to her family, at any cost. She helped to provide for her family by taking on jobs at multiple locations. Ellie & Joe loved to travel. They took advantage of traveling overseas and domestically, spending time and living with their children and watching their grandchildren and great grandchildren grow.
After the passing of her husband of 63 years, Ellie lived with several of her children, most recently since 2012 with Margaret and husband Gordon in Murfreesboro, TN. She was pre-deceased by her husband Joe, two sons, Ronnie and Steven, and all her siblings except her youngest brother Arturo. Surviving her are her children Margaret, Grace, Joe, Anna and Randall, 17 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren.
Ellie was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend to her family and anyone who had the pleasure of being blessed by knowing her during her lifetime. Ellie gave this world the best gift of all, the gift of giving selflessly. She helped many people by putting their needs before hers. Ellie would give her last penny to ensure those who needed it would not do without.
