Elida Salazar

Elida Salazar, age 71, passed away January 12, 2014 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born of February 1, 1942 in Poteet, Texas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Guillermo Durand and Herminia Mendoza; brothers, Roy and Rudy Durand. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Rudolph Salazar; three children, Margarito Hernandez Jr. and wife Vicky, Velma S. Martinez and husband Leonard, Rudolph Salazar Jr.; grandchildren, Laura Ann Hernandez, Marcus Hernandez, Rachel Rivera, Rudolph Salazar III, Anna Marie Delgado, Daniel C. Delgado Jr., Nicole Delgado, Cecilia Ann Delgado, Brittany Martinez, Jacquelyn Martinez and Stacey Martinez; 25 great-grandchildren; sisters, Matilde Salazar, Elvira Valdez, Gloria Garcia and Mary Mendoza; brothers, Antonio Durand, Reynaldo Durand, Robert Durand and Adolph Durand; numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera road, San Antonio, Texas on Wednesday, January 15, 2014 from 10:00 A.M. to 9:00 P.M. with a prayer service at 7:00 P.M. A funeral service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, January 16, 2014 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home with Rev. Phil Jones officiating. Interment will follow at St. Andrew Catholic Church Cemetery #2 in Pleasanton, Texas.
