Elizabeth Yanez Estrada entered into the loving arms of Our Lord on June 28th, 2024 at the age of 78. Elizabeth was born on August 11th, 1945 to Luis U. Yanez and Virginia Medina in San Antonio, Texas.
Elizabeth started working at Kelly Air Force Base after graduating high school as a key punch operator. This job allowed her to buy her first car, a 1966 Ford Mustang that she loved so much. She was able to buy her mother, Virginia, her first China dinnerware set. Through promotions and hard work, Elizabeth moved up and worked in several different departments during her civil service career. Elizabeth used to point up to the sky when the large C-5 airplanes flew over telling her young daughters that she helped build that. She felt every single person that worked there had a small part in the work done on base. Elizabeth received several awards throughout her 38 years and retired from the Nuclear Weapons department as Administrative Support right before the closure of Kelly AFB.
Elizabeth found joy in a wide range of pastimes. She loved the thrill of playing bingo, basking in the sun at the beach, exploring shops for unique finds, and adding to her collection of antiques. She enjoyed going out to eat at restaurants, visiting Kickapoo, engaging in lively games with her grandkids, and cherishing quality time with her family. When she wanted to unwind, she often turned to reading or watching captivating shows such as Law and Order, Wheel of Fortune, and The Price is Right.
Elizabeth will be united in heaven with her husband; Hector C. Estrada and parents; Luis and Virginia Yanez.
Elizabeths’ memory will forever live in the hearts of her daughters; JoAnn Preciado (Pedro), and Liz Diaz (Robert), her grandkids; Hector L. Medrano, Andrew J. Rodriguez, Rebecca L. Rodriguez, Emily R. Preciado, Brooklyn R. Diaz, Adam J. Preciado, Alyson Diaz, her brothers; Louis Yanez (Connie) and Roberto Yanez, along with numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.
