Elizabeth [Betty] Marie Kerley, born August 21, 1922 in Camden, NJ, passed away peacefully in her sleep on June 1, 2020 at the age of 97. She is preceded in death by her husband, Lt. Col. Ralph A. Kerley and by her four sons, John, Chris, Jim and Greg. Elizabeth is survived by her son, Tim Kerley and wife Mary, daughter, Beth Castagnoli; grandchildren David, Laura Michelle; sisters, Geri and Marie; brother, John; Numerous and Nieces, Nephews and many other family members. Visitation will be held at Sunset Funeral Home on Thursday, June 11, 2020 from 5:30 pm to 9:00 pm, with a rosary to be recited at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be at St. Pius X Catholic Church at 11:00 am on Friday, June 12, 2020, with interment to take place at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery. [Immediate Family Only]
Betty touched many people and made a difference over the years.
Betty Kerley was a Relator and joined the SA board of Realtors in 1973. She was Associate Relator of the year in 1977. She served on the Board of Realtors for many years and helped start the Board of Realtors Federal Credit Union and St. Gregory FCU. She was active in Real-estate up to 2005.
Betty was a member of St. Pius X Church for 54 years. She was active with the Parish Council of Women for 34 years and was active on many committees serving the Parish, St. Peter / St. Joseph Children’s Home and the Diocese. She was a charter member of the Texas Professional Women’s Association, a longtime member of Keep SA Beautiful, SA Housing Trust, Founding Member of Government Hill Neighborhood Association.
