Elizabeth (Betsy) Madden Welch was born in San Antonio, TX on June 3, 1932 to James and Pauline Madden (Jim & Polly). She was a graduate of Alamo Heights Schools and the University of Texas in Austin. After her retirement from a 42 year career in advertising and public relations, she traveled extensively worldwide. She was an active member of Gamma Phi Beta alumnae chapter and the McNay Art Museum. She was named in “Who’s Who in American Women” in 1980.
Betsy was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Thomas Peter Welch. She is survived by her aunt, Katheryn Votaw of Ft. Worth; cousins, Judge Ted Z. Robertson (Margie) of Dallas, Charles Robertson, III (Patricia) of Dripping Springs, Terry Ann Lesly (Tony) and son, Nick of Albuquerque, NM and Charles Madden of Redmond, WA.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 22, 2014 in Sunset Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park.
