

Marzell grew up in the Dallas, TX area. On July 4, 1947 Marzell married Barrett Lamar Moore, Sr. in Dallas. During World War II, Marzell worked as a time keeper for North American (aircraft factory). She was later employed as a typist for a court reporter and secretary for two churches. During their marriage, Marzell and Lamar lived in Redwood City, California; Lubbock, TX area; San Antonio, TX and Llano, TX. Marzell was currently living at Sodalis Elder Living at Graceland. In addition to raising two children, Marzell was a homemaker and a faithful Christian. Marzell thoroughly enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cross stitching, painting, canning and preserving foods from the garden she and Lamar raised, as well as playing Chicken Foot, 42, and Bingo.
Marzell was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Lamar, who died August 15, 2000 after 53 years of marriage.
Marzell is survived by son Barrett Lamar Moore, Jr. and wife Faye of Midland, TX and daughter Janice Elaine Springer and husband Steve of Schertz, TX. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Stephen Springer, Jr., Kalyn, Sheldon and Braeden; Scott and Cathy Springer, James and Jacob; Kelli and Jason Callahan and Jasper; Patty and Rusty Holt, Huston, Mia and Alli; and Amy and Stuart Butt, Kimberlea, Jayden and Elliott.
Ellen "Marzell" Moore will lie in state on Monday, March 25 from 12:00p.m. until 9:00p.m. at Porter Loring North.
Funeral service will be held Tuesday, March 26, 2013 at 10:00a.m. at Porter Loring North Chapel with the family receiving friends beginning at 9:00a.m.
Graveside services will follow at Llano City Cemetery in Llano, TX at 2:00p.m.
In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to Cherokee Home for Children or the charity of your choice.
