

He passed away on Friday, December 31, 2004 in Weatherford, Texas.He was married to his wife, Doris, for 62 years.
He was an avid athlete and loved ice hockey and especially, baseball.
After serving in both the Army and Air Force, Al worked in Civil Service as an Assistant to the Adjutant General's Office at Fort Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas.
While living in San Antonio, he was a volunteer to the Oblate Fathers and usher at St. Peter's Catholic Church.
He continued to be an active member of the Catholic Church wherever he and Doris lived.
He retired in 1975 and spent his remaining years traveling with Doris, playing golf, gardening and spending time with family.
He and Doris retired in several Texas cities including Tomball, Austin and Weatherford.
Al is survived by his beloved wife, Doris; son, Greg and wife, Becky, of Weatherford, Texas; daughters, Janine Swan and husband, Bill, of Spring, Texas; Marilyn Benedict and husband, Ron, of Waxahachie, Texas and Kathleen Fisk of Spring, Texas along with nine grandchildren and four great grandchildren who knew him just as "Pops".
The grandchildren are Erin, Eric, Elisa, Blair, Brice, Meredith, Zachry, Ashley, and Bret; great grandchildren Kylie, Kaelyn, Mary Clare and William Frederic.
