Ellyn Calmbach

Mrs. Ellyn Steubing Calmbach, 92, passed away Monday, March 21, 2011. She was born on May 6, 1918 in Bexar County to Richard and Helen Classen Steubing. She was preceded in death by her husband Alvin Calmbach, and brothers, Leslie and Wilton Steubing. Mrs. Calmbach is survived by her daughters, Helen Schoolcraft and husband William, Alva Rahe and husband Ernst, Bonnie Schwarz and husband Elgin; grandchildren, Keith and Kathy Schoolcraft, Denene and Neal Barnes, Bret and Lida Rahe, Jason and Nicole Schwarz; great grandchildren, Konor, Kalan and Kaden Barnes, Barret and Camdyn Rahe; sisters-in-law, Helen Steubing and Mercedes Kiles. Ellyn was a homemaker and lived most of her life on the farm and ranch. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Bulverde, the Bulverde Community Center and Bowling Alley in Comal County. The visitation will be held on Thursday, March 24, 2011 from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M. at Sunset North Funeral Home, 910 North Loop 1604 East. The funeral service will be held on Friday, March 25, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. A private interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park.
