Elodia graduated from Hart High School in 1969 and continued her education at West Texas University, where she graduated in 1976. She went on to marry her high school sweetheart, Danny Rodriguez and they celebrated 53 years together. Elodia served Hart ISD as an educator and school board member for over 40 years. She was a devout Christian and loved to read scriptures from the bible every day. She spent her time playing with her grandchildren, shopping for antiques and loved making candy.
She was preceded in death by, her parents, Navidad and Zaragoza Castillo. Elodia is survived by her husband, Daniel Rodriguez; her daughter, Ysa-Yvett Maldonado and husband Daniel; her twelve younger siblings; and her three grandchildren, Fenix, Ozden, and Zara, who she loved to the moon and back.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made to St. Jude Children’s research hospital.
