

Elton Rohan of San Antonio passed away on April 30, 2015 at the age of 80 with his daughter Lisa by his side. Married on July 7, 1967, he was predeceased by his wife of 40 years, Leslie Dunham Rohan. Elton was known by his friends and family as "Big Daddy".
Elton was born to Hilarion and Elizabeth Kostelnik Rohan in Houston, Texas on October 7, 1934. After graduating from Brackenridge High School in San Antonio in 1953, he then went to work as a truck driver at Jud Plumbing Heating and Air Conditioning in San Antonio. Elton entered the sheet metal apprentice program, but he was drafted into the US Army in 1955, and served his country in Korea until 1959.
Upon his return to Texas, Elton completed his apprentice program and became a Journeyman and Job Foreman and then advanced to the position as Superintendent in charge of Sheet Metal Operations on many HVAC projects all over the growing City of San Antonio. He worked for Jud for 40 year, moving on to JWP-Gowan, and retiring in 1998. Elton enjoyed being an active and respected member of SMACNA and MCA, where he spent time with his peers and engaged in many memorable activities and events.
Elton especially loved working on old cars and trucks. He shared his hobby with his son, Jay, and together they spent many special moments in the shop rebuilding various vehicles. Elton also loved skeet shooting, deer hunting, and spending time on his deer lease with his hunting companions, and especially with his son, Craig. He also loved spending time with his daughter Lisa and her family in the hill country shooting hogs.
Elton leaves behind his daughter Lisa Rohan of San Antonio; sons, Jay Rohan and wife, Suzanne of Seguin, Craig Rohan and wife, Geena of Austin; grandsons, Taylor Leslie of Austin, Hunter Dunlap and wife, CariBeth of Dallas, Austin Rohan and Garrett Rohan of Austin; granddaughters, Ashley Rohan Woodley of Glen Rose, Charlotte Dunlap Colby and husband, Mark of Dallas, Amanda Rohan of Austin; great-grandchildren, Makinley Woodley, Judge Woodley and Blakely Dunlap. He is also survived by brothers, Carl Rohan and wife, Laura of San Antonio, Tommy Rohan of Castroville and sisters, Marilyn McMahon and husband, John of Houston, Agnes Rohan of San Antonio.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2015 at Porter Loring North.
