Elvida Rodriguez

Elvida S. Rodriguez, age 87, went to be with the Lord on Friday, November 20, 2020 in San Antonio, Texas. She was a loving daughter, sister, mother and friend. She was a faithful servant of the Lord, always serving others and a mighty prayer warrior. She was so selfless and generous. She loved gardening, especially caring for her roses and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. Elvida always liked to be called “Mom”. We will always cherish the memories that we have of her. She touched so many lives and will truly be missed.

She dedicated her life to her children and grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rolando Garza Rodriguez; son, Ruben M. Rodriguez, and daughter, Leslie Rodriguez. Elvida is survived by her children, Anita Quiroga (Homero), Roland Rodriguez, Araceli Hawlisch (Doris), Deanna Calvillo, Joann Callaway, Judy Nieto (Luis), Jonell Rodriguez, daughter-in-law Ludivina Rodriguez, eighteen grandchildren, twenty-two great grandchildren, eight great-great grandchildren and her siblings: Rafael S. Moreno, Manuel S. Moreno, Cesar S. Moreno, Jovita S. Moreno and Maria De Hoyos.

The family will receive friends from 5 p.m. - 8 pm., Thursday, December 3, 2020, at Porter Loring Mortuary North.

PORTER LORING NORTH CHAPEL

Pastor Jerry Canupp will officiate. Interment will follow at Meadowlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
