She moved to San Antonio in 1938 to attend business school after high school graduation. She began working at the Union Stock Yards where she met and later married her former husband, A. J. Lindsay. Together they had two children.
In 1960 she began working for the Civil Service, retiring from the Social Security Administration in 1988. Even though she had a career, her life was always centered on her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, W.O. and Susie Belle Angel Sharp, and brothers, Reuben Sharp and W. O. Sharp, Jr.
She is survived by her daughter, Carole Galloway of San Antonio; son, Jay V. Lindsay of Spring Branch; grandchildren, James Michael Lindsay, Deborah E. Austin and husband Steven, and Melissa West and husband David; great-grandchildren, Kimberly and Ryan Thomas, Sarah and Samuel Austin and Sterling West; and numerous nieces and nephews.
