

Emil led a distinguished career as the Director of Planning in both San Antonio and Fort Worth, Texas. His professional contributions left a lasting impact on the communities he served. A proud alumnus of Texas A&M University, Emil earned a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture and a Master’s degree in Urban Planning, which laid the foundation for his remarkable career.
Emil was a devoted husband to his beloved wife of 55 years, Judy. Together they built a life filled with love and cherished memories. He was also a loving father to three sons who brought him immense pride and joy.
Beyond his professional achievements and family life, Emil found great pleasure in birdwatching and wine tasting. He had a passion for staying active through walking and fitness and enjoyed immersing himself in books. Emil also had an appreciation for Mexican folk art, which reflected his love for culture and creativity.
A funeral service will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary West in San Antonio to honor Emil’s life and legacy.
Emil will be remembered for his dedication to his work, his love for his family, and the joy he brought to those who knew him. May his memory bring comfort to all who mourn his passing.
The family will receive guests from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary West, with a Funeral Service to follow at 11:00 a.m.
A Committal Service will follow at 1:15 p.m. at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, TX 78209.
