

Emilia was born in San Antonio, Texas on April 5, 1941, to Arcadio Sanchez and Genoveva Molina Sanchez. Emilia was married to Valentin Liserio Garza for 61 wonderful years.
Emilia worked in the roofing and construction industry at V.L. Garza Roofing & Remodeling, Inc. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who took pride in her family and her work.
Outside of work, Emilia lived life to the fullest and enjoyed a wide range of hobbies and activities. She loved bowling, often spending time with family and friends at the lanes, where her laughter and competitive spirit lit up the room. Emilia also had a green thumb—she found great joy and peace in gardening, nurturing her plants and creating beautiful outdoor spaces filled with color and life.
A talented cook, Emilia’s kitchen was always full of warmth and the delicious aromas of her homemade meals. Her recipes brought the family together for countless celebrations, holidays, and Sunday dinners. She also enjoyed golfing, a pastime that combined her love of the outdoors with her friendly, easygoing nature.
Emilia cherished time spent at El Cortez and Kickapoo, where she enjoyed relaxing, socializing, and having a little fun. Above all, she found her greatest happiness in being surrounded by her loved ones.
Emilia was preceded in death by her husband, Valentin L. Garza; her parents, Arcadio and Genoveva Sanchez; and her siblings, Faustino Sanchez, Martin Sanchez, Maria Perez, and Ramona Arenas.
She is survived by her children, Victoria Sanchez Garza, Arcadio Sanchez Garza, and Armando Sanchez Garza; her step children, Leticia Garza, Valentin " Papo" Garza, Ruben Garza, Albert Garza and Catherine Garza; her siblings, Bertha Solis and Arcadio Sanchez Jr.
Emilia leaves behind 21 grandchildren: Michelle, Esther, April, Rachel, Isaac, Isaiah, Yvette, Christopher, Elizabeth, Elida, Anthony, Jacob, Summer, Gabriel, Alejandro, Regina, Lisa, Taylor, Brooke, and Emily Oswaldo.
She is also survived by 27 great-grandchildren: Zachary, Bradley, Isabelle, Madison, Joe Daniel, Ezekiel, Solomon, Daniel, Kassandra, Baby Garza, Damian H., Anyssa, Annabelle, Christopher Jr., Erik, Charlotte, Natalia, Alfonso, Taylor, Esther, Malachi, Daymein, Jeter, Leah, Ella, Jayden, and Mason.
Emilia’s memory will forever remain in the hearts of her family and friends who loved her dearly.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, November 9, 2025, at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237 from 4:00p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
A Prayer Service will begin at 7:30 p.m. on Sunday, November 9, led by Robert Peña.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, November 10, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, officiated by Robert Peña.
The procession will depart at 10:30 a.m. for interment at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
