Emmet Oliver Whitaker, Jr. went to be with the Lord on February 20, 2015. He was preceded in death by his wife Grace R. Dalzell and parents Emmet Oliver Whitaker, Sr. and Opal C. Whitaker. He is survived by his loving children Johnny Whitaker (Nancy), Anna Martin (Greg), Elizabeth Loftin (James), Amelia Reed, Adrienne Follmer (Chris), and Eva Longoria (Ramon), grandchildren Richard Whitaker, John Whitaker, Alexis Bennett, Benjamin Bennett, Bryan Reed, Jacob Reed, Jennifer Carter, Nicholas Carter, Chelsea Harrison, four great grandchildren, sister Joan Rethorst and brother Harvey Whitaker (Beverly). He was a friend to all who knew him and will be deeply missed. A visitation will be held on Thursday February 26, 2015 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home from 5 to 9 pm with a rosary at 7 pm. A funeral mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Helotes, TX on February 27, 2015 at 10 am. Interment to follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
