Enrique was a talented and self-taught Master Jeweler who was praised for his innovative and complicated one of a kind designs. His handcrafted pieces will undoubtedly live past to see many generations. He took pride in his work, and a little piece of his love for his craft lives on in each and everyone of his masterful creations.
In his early years Enrique made the difficult decision to follow the American dream which meant leaving the only place he had called home. Landing in Chicago, Illinois. There he began what was the beginning of a very success career in the jewelry business. A boy from a small town in Mexico found himself thriving in the Windy City not many years after his arrival. There he became a father to three. He eventually encouraged many of his brothers to leave the comfort of home for a better future, and taught them about the business. Some of which became jewelers themselves. Unknowingly in the process making the Michel name known in the industry. He spent 20 plus years in the city and worked at numerous successful businesses as their master jeweler.
In search of a slower life, Enrique made the decision to move to Texas. Where he continued his craft working for many stores over the years. As well as picked up a new passion for restoring cars. His last 20 years of life were spent here, in San Antonio doing the things that brought him joy. Enrique was a jeweler to his very last day of life. He enjoyed spending time with his family, and numerous friends who soon became like family. Most importantly he spent his last years of life with his youngest daughter who truly kept him young, who he loved and adored, and whom he left too soon.
He planned to one day make it back home to Mexico, and build a home on family land were he would retire. In Honor of that dream, his family will return him home in death.
Enrique was a devoted father, brother, and friend. He loved with all of his heart and would’ve given the clothes off his back for anyone in need. He never gave up on those he cherished, he forgave as easy as he loved. His resilience, his character and the light he brought to those who loved him will forever be missed.
He is preceded in death by both parents, infant son; Enrique Jr, and a brother. He is survived by his loving daughters, Miranda and Jessica; and son, Joseph. As well as his remaining brothers and sisters, grandchildren, nieces and nephews, and numerous extended family and friends.
