She was born on August 28, 1940, to Bruno Guerra and Trinidad Ramirez in Cotulla, Texas where she lived until the family moved to San Antonio Texas in 1960. In San Antonio, she met and married her husband of 55 years, Adolfo V. Mendoza. They started their family in Texas then settled down in Vallejo California in 1962.
Erma devoted herself to caring for her home and her family and when she had time, she enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crocheting and quilting. She loved California because of its beautiful landscape and ideal climate for her other love-gardening. She kept an amazing vegetable garden, grew fruit trees, and took great pride in her yard, plants, and flowers.
The family returned to Texas in 1982 to be near family and once back in Texas, she was always happiest when spending time with her extended family. She looked forward to family gatherings when she could enjoy time with her sisters, brothers, nieces, and nephews and watch the family grow.
Erma will be remembered for her endless energy, strength, and the unconditional love she had for her family. We will all miss her generous spirit, her giving heart and her warm embrace.
