Ernestina C. Rivera

Ernestina Carvajal Rivera, age 93, passed away peacefully on December 9, 2021 in San Antonio, Texas. She was born in San Antonio on December 1, 1928 to Ernesto and Soledad (Chavez) Carvajal. She attended Johnson #7 Elementary, James Bowie #9 Elementary, Washington Irving Junior High and Sidney Lanier High School. Ernestina worked at a variety of jobs early in her life, including the Frito Lay Company, the Finck Cigar Company where she rolled cigars, and at a later time with Goodwill Industries. She devoted the early years of her life to raising her two children, and then later in life, to raising her grandson.

She will be remembered as one who was gracious and generous; who welcomed everyone to her home where no one was a stranger, just a friend she hadnt met yet.

Ernestina will be missed by her daughter, Rosario C. R. Walker and husband Kevin C. Walker; son, John Moreno Rivera, Jr.; grandson, John M. Rivera III "Trey"; her good neighbor, Sylvia Calamaco and numerous other friends.

The family is grateful for all the medical personnel who assisted in Ernestina's care.
