

Ernestina "Tina" Ochoa Rangel, a beacon of love and faith, passed away peacefully on October 6, 2024, in San Antonio, Texas, at the age of 94. Born on May 11, 1930, in Sanderson, Texas, Tina was a woman whose life was characterized by her selfless nature, her unwavering faith, and her loving heart.
Tina was the salutatorian of her high school class of '48, a testament to her intelligence and dedication. Her pursuit of knowledge led her to attend business school, where she honed the skills that would serve her well in her career as a bookkeeper. Her meticulous nature and strong work ethic were evident in all she did, and her contributions to the workplace were greatly valued.
Throughout her life, Tina was deeply involved in her community and church. She was an active member of the Altar Society and lent her beautiful voice to the church choir, bringing joy and solace to many through her participation in these spiritual callings. Tina's creative spirit shone brightly in her love for arts and crafts, and her hands were rarely still as she crafted beauty in her every endeavor.
A woman of many talents, Tina was renowned for her culinary skills, especially her German Chocolate Cake and Christmas pastries, which were eagerly anticipated by family and friends each year. Her kitchen was a place of warmth and laughter, where memories were baked into every treat she lovingly prepared.
Tina was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Antonio J. Rangel, her father, Adelaido Ochoa, her mother, Elisa O. Ochoa, her brother, Manuel Ochoa, and her nephew, Carlos J. Ochoa. Her life was a testament to the love and bonds she shared with them, and she carried their memories in her heart always.
She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews, as well as members of her late husband's family, all of whom she cherished deeply. Tina's legacy of love and care lives on through them, as they continue to honor her memory by embodying the values she instilled in them.
In her life, Tina exemplified the words of Mother Teresa, "Not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love." This quote captures the essence of Tina's approach to life; every action she took was infused with great love, and in this way, she achieved greatness.
