October 29, 1978 – September 23, 2026
Ernesto Rocha III, affectionately known as Ernie, Ern, and lovingly as “Baby Ernie,” passed away on September 23, 2026, at the age of 47.
Born on October 29, 1978, in San Antonio, Texas, Ernie was a proud San Antonio native, born and raised in the city he called home.
Ernie was preceded in death by his beloved pets, Dexter and Dugas Rocha, who were truly members of the family and held a special place in his heart.
He is survived by his loving wife, Angela Galindo; his parents, Ernesto Rocha, Jr. and Angela Rocha; his brother, Michael Rocha; his sister-in-law, Cassie Rocha; his mother-in-law, Priscilla Sanchez-Hurt; his brother-in-law, Vincent Galindo; his sister-in-law, Margaret Lindsey; and the many family members and friends whose lives were made brighter simply by knowing him.
Ernie had a deep love for music. He loved playing guitar, singing, attending concerts, and, whenever a microphone was within reach, showing everyone why he was a true karaoke star. He was a big-time sports fan, a lover of great BBQ, and an avid collector of sneakers, sports memorabilia, and far too many other things to possibly list. He was also someone who was always searching for a new place, a new experience, or simply another reason to have a good time with the people he loved.
But more than anything he enjoyed or collected, Ernie will be remembered for the way he made people feel.
He had a remarkable ability to light up any room he entered. His smile was unforgettable, his hugs were the kind you could feel long after they ended, and his laugh was impossible not to join. With an incredible sense of humor and a natural gift for making people laugh, Ernie brought joy wherever he went.
He never seemed to meet a stranger. Ernie could make a friend anywhere, at any time, and somehow had a way of making each person feel like they were his best friend. In many ways, he was everyone’s best friend.
Behind all that humor and larger-than-life personality was an incredibly sweet and kind heart. He was a loving and caring husband, a devoted animal lover, and a loyal friend to so many.
Ernie’s life was far too short, but the love, laughter, friendship, music, memories, and joy he gave so freely cannot be measured in years.
Those who loved him will remember his smile.
They will remember his laugh.
They will remember his hugs.
They will remember the way he could make an ordinary moment unforgettable.
And most of all, they will remember how deeply Ernie loved and was loved.
His presence filled a room, and his memory will continue to fill the hearts of everyone fortunate enough to have known him.
Visitation will take place on Tuesday, October 13, 2026 at Sunset Northwest Funeral Home, 6321 Bandera Rd, San Antonio, TX 78238 at 5:30 PM.
