Ernesto Fidencio Soto, born on November 12, 2003, in Laredo, Texas, entered eternal rest on December 6, 2025. Though his time on this earth was far too brief, Ernesto left a lasting imprint on the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
Ernesto was a young man full of life, laughter, and kindness. He had a deep love for video gaming, especially Call of Duty, GTA 5, Fortnite, and Injustice 2. He was passionate about sports—particularly football, boxing, and wrestling, with a special love for WWE. He also had a special love for dogs, especially German Shepherds and Pit Bulls, and took great joy in their loyalty and companionship. One of his greatest joys was play-fighting with his siblings, laughing and reenacting wrestling moves, creating memories filled with endless joy and laughter. Ernesto was known for his playful spirit, his big heart, and his willingness to help others whenever he could. He had a natural ability to bring happiness to those around him and was cherished for his caring and generous nature.
Since the age of nine, Ernesto was actively involved in the Spurs’ nonprofit organizations, where he participated in youth-focused programs designed to promote teamwork, leadership, and community service. Through these initiatives, he learned the importance of giving back, staying active, and representing his community with pride. Being part of the Spurs organization allowed him to connect with mentors and peers, attend community events, and develop values that stayed with him as he grew.
He was also involved in a youth league for elementary-aged children called TYFA, where he discovered a love for being part of a team and building lasting friendships. Family meant everything to Ernesto, and he deeply cherished the time he spent surrounded by the people he loved most.
Ernesto is reunited in heaven with his beloved baby sister, Kendall Lee Gonzalez (2013); his great-grandmother, Julia Gonzalez (2015); his grandfather, Kermit James Stemple (2013); his great-grandfather, Antonio Gonzalez; his cousin, Maximino Angel Hurtado (2023); and his uncles, Maximino Hurtado (2021) and Felipe Soto (2008).
Ernesto’s memory will forever live in the hearts of his mother, Griselda Elba Gonzalez; his father, Fidencio Soto III; his grandmother, Maricela Stemple; his older sister, Alexis Anahi Soto; his younger sister, Destiny Alee Soto; his nephews, Javier Manuel Mejia Soto, Salvador Rey Mejia Soto, and Elias Maximino Hurtado; along with many uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends who loved him deeply.
Ernesto Fidencio Soto will be remembered for his bright smile, his loving soul, and the joy he brought into the lives of others. Though he is gone from our sight, he will never be gone from our hearts.
