He was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 5, 1929, to Walter and Elfrieda Lichey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Bernard and Walter Sonny; and sister, Charlotte Behoff.
He is survived by his wife, Josephine Lichey; daughter, Diane Lee Lichey; sons, Robert Walter Lichey, Michael Thomas Lichey and wife Leslie Ann; four grandchildren, Karina, Brigitte, Cassandra and Ashley Eve; great-grandchild, Andrea Anna; brother, Gunther Lichey and wife Jackie; and numerous nieces and nephews.
