

If you had the pleasure of having a conversation with her, you probably have already heard of her daughter Alex, son AJ, and sister Olga. Alex and AJ were her pride and joy, and she loved them with every part of her heart and soul.
She was a devoted mother, a loving daughter and sister, and a cherished friend. She had a vibrant personality and a great sense of humor. You could always count on her to make you laugh in any situation, and she brought joy and laughter everywhere she went.
She valued education and was a dedicated educator for over 33 years in the community she grew up in. She was proud to have earned both her bachelor's and master's degrees. Raising her two children as a single mother while obtaining her bachelor's degree was an accomplishment she was very proud of.
She loved to travel and spend time with her children, family, and friends. She enjoyed reading and trying new recipes for baking and cooking. She also loved her cat Joan, who brought comfort and laughter into her life. As a lover of all holidays, her home was decorated for every occasion. She was happiest at home with Alex and AJ.
Her love and humor will be missed. She touched so many lives, and a piece of her will forever live on through everyone who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her daughter Alexandra Renae Medel and her partner Patrick, her son Alejandro Rene Medel Jr.; her sister Olga Casias and her partner Johnny, her mother Martina E. Casias; her sister RoseMary Barrera and her husband Steve, her brother Domingo Ramos and his wife Elizabeth, her brother Arturo Ramos, her sister Mary Sanchez and her husband George. Esther was preceded in death by her father, Cruz Casias.
A Memorial Gathering to honor Esther’s life and share stories will be held at Porter Loring Mortuary – West on Friday, September 18, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., followed by a Memorial Service from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
