Hard to believe it's been 10 years since Uncle Gene passed. My mom passed earlier in March so that year was a blur. We were able to visit San Antonio later that fall to be with Aunt Eleanor. Related to her from my Father in Law, Dick was her older brother. Our visits each year were primarily at their parent's house in Nelson, Nebraska both Christmas and summer visits. Occasionally in KCMO where Dick and JoAnn lived. My earliest introduction was summer of '75 prior to our wedding May '76. It was always a special time with their menagerie of pets that traveled with them . Our 4 kids always were kept busy and loved the visits with their great aunt and uncle. Rick, has stories from his birth as the only nephew they regularly saw on the Weekly side, a bit spoiled. The other nephew in Washington didn't get to grandparent's as often. We are still very blessed to have had both of them in our lives.

Gail, We just received a letter from Lois McDonald's daughter, Maureen. Lois is Eleanor's 1 st cousin. Her mother is Darlien Weekly Bute. Great Grandpa Harry E Weekly's sister. Really would like to reconnect for the cousins to communicate. Although both may have some cognitive impairments I believe there is an inner understanding that sometimes can't be conveyed the traditional verbal way.  Even photographs could be exchanged. She has said she has Weekly keepsakes and writings of Gpa Harry and family. She has no children not does her 2 brothers all in their 70' s and retired across the US. Always enjoyed the many years of our visits when Eleanor and Gene visited Nelson, Nebraska to be with Harry and Jattie. We would coordinate our visits, Dick, Jo, Rick, Joy ,Sarah, Patrick, Tyler,Cameron The Kansas City Weekly crew to have family reunions at least 2 times a year at Christmas and over the summertime. Our kids loved the pet menagerie that traveled with them.  I lost my mom, March 2, 2013. Our visit with Aunt Eleanor in the 2014  KSU football season at the Alamo Bowl was our last trip to Tx. with Eleanor. We had not known of Gene's  passing. We would like to receive communication as to her life since our visit. Letters were returned, Moved: No forwarding address.
