

Eugene Martin Kline, a beloved husband, father, and friend, passed away on November 17, 2025, at the age of 72. Eugene was a resident of Canyon Lake, Texas, and leaves behind a legacy of love and service.
Born on August 4, 1953, Eugene was preceded in death by his father, Robert A. Kline, and his mother, Catherine A. Wertin. He is survived by his devoted wife, Aurelia L. Kline, his brother Robert A. Kline, Jr., and his sisters Barbara J. Foster, Patricia M. Leake, and Margaret A. Hamman. Eugene was a proud father to Gelyn L. Kline, Albert L. Kline, and Christine L. Kline, and a cherished grandfather to Maddilyn K. Kline, Xaivier E. Kline, Alicia L. Kline, Alden R. Kline, and Alyna J. Kline. His family also includes sons-in-law Christopher Clay and Eleazar Covarrubias, and daughter-in-law Liwanag C. Urquiola.
Eugene's educational achievements were extensive, including courses and degrees in electronics systems technology and various military specialties. He completed the Flight Facilities Equipment Repairman Course in 1972 and attended multiple United States Air Force (USAF) leadership and technical courses throughout his career. Eugene earned associate degrees from the Community College of the USAF and Los Angeles Community College, and completed 121 semester hours at Mississippi University for Women from 1996 to 2000.
A retired USAF Master Sergeant, Eugene served from September 9, 1971, to October 1, 1991, including active duty during Operation Desert Shield, Desert Storm, and Desert Calm. His military awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, USAF Commendation Medal, and several others recognizing his dedication and service. After retiring from active duty, Eugene continued to serve his country in the Department of Defense as a civil servant from February 22, 1994, to November 30, 2019.
Eugene had a passion for classic and muscle cars, museums, traveling, and the outdoors. He enjoyed exploring national parks, military history, and Route 66 tours. His family, gardening, and a love for comedy, including The Three Stooges, Groucho Marx, and MAD Magazine's Alfred E. Newman, were central to his life.
Eugene will be remembered for his unconditional love, support, and generosity. He had a unique ability to connect with those he cared about and was known for his big, photogenic, often goofy smile and his love of telling and receiving jokes.
A visitation for Mr. Kline will be held at Sunset North Funeral Home, located at 910 North Loop 1604 East, San Antonio, TX 78232, on December 2, 2025, at 4:30 pm, followed by a prayer service at 7:00 pm. The funeral service will take place at St. Mark The Evangelist Catholic Church, 1602 Thousand Oaks Dr, San Antonio, TX 78232, on December 3, 2025, at 11:00 am. A committal service will follow at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas 78209, at 1:00 pm.
