I met Gene when my family moved to San Antonio and I started school at Central Catholic in the eight grade. My parents became good friends with Gene's mom and dad. I was always impressed with Gene's talents through out high school and later in life. Our prayers go out for Gene and his family.

Hello to the Family of Mr. Gene Pape, My name is Belinda Whitby and I worked with Gene when we both were employed with the City of San Antonio. I will miss him greatly. He was a true inspiration to me and probably one of the reasons I don?t panic so easily under pressure. One day we had a problem with the system and I needed to reset the controller before the system would crash. I was in a hurry to reset the controller and Gene wanted to look up the error message and do some research. Now, I kindly informed him of the situation because he was new and all and Gene kindly asked me ?do you know how to reboot the system if it crash?. I really didn?t know how to take that, but I came back with ?it is far better to understand the failure than just doing a recovery. That is how corrections and preventions become a cure instead of a patch?. I will carry that with me always. Hats off to you Gene!! With My Condolences, Belinda J. Whitby

I remember Eugene very well from our days at Central Catholic. Seeing his name brought back the fond memories I had of him. I remember him as a class guy.

Very sorry to hear of Gene's (Gee-Gee)passing. We went to grade school together at St. Gerard's. He was a great guy.

 Sorry to learn of the loss of your brother. He was a good guy and fun to shoot the breeze with.

I was sorry to learn of Gene's passing. I was a classmate of Gene's at CCHS. Our class was disappointed when Gene could not attend our 50th reunion events in 2005. He was a well liked and respected member of our class and we remembered him in pre-dinner prayer. I'm not sure "respected" would be a term 18 year olds would apply to a classmate in 1955, but Gene certainly was a key player in CCHS activities, and I remember his contributions to CCHS sport teams. My condolences to the Pape family. I will remember Gene in a prayer tonight.

My condolences to the family. I attended Central Catholic with Gene and Pat. As I remember he was a very fine individual and a good friend.

Mary, I just today saw Mr. Pape's picture. I am so sorry that we are going out of town and cannot be here for the service. I will always remember Mr. Pape as such a sweet, gentle person with so much dignity. Always a smile for me when I visited. Please know that you and your family will be in my prayers. Jennifer Nahoum

I'm so sorry for your loss and the struggles of such a difficult illness for such a long time. I have many fond memories of Uncle Geg from my childhood that I will always cherish. I know it's been a long time since we've seen or spoken to each other, but you and Uncle Geg have been, and will remain, in my heart and in my prayers.
