

Eva “Maria” Dykes, born in Bad Hersfeld, Germany on August 7, 1950 peacefully passed away on January 28th, 2025 at the age of 75.
In 1968, she graduated from Douglas Mac Arthur High School in San Antonio and married U.S. Navy Seabee Gene M. Dykes, her husband of 47 years. Together they spent many years deployed by the U.S. Navy. Maria played as an organist and pianist for several churches during those deployment years. In 1980, they settled in San Antonio, Texas with their 5 daughters.
Maria was preceded in death by parents, Martin and Myrtle Boger; brother, Michael Boger; daughter, Janie Christine Dykes Hadley and; husband, Gene Dykes. Surviving are daughters; TIffany Rumbo (Keith), Jennifer Gibbon, Cindy McBurnett (Kevin), Wendy Hajj (Daniel); grandsons, Marshall Gibbon, Conner Gibbon, Julian Hajj; sisters-in-law, Karen Hertz (Michael), Darlene Redcliff, brother-in-law, Alvin Lathem (Mary) and many cherished nieces, nephews and friends.
Maria will be laid to rest at Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery on Feb 6, 2025 with family in attendance.
Gifts in remembrance can be made to Morgan’s Multi-Assictance Center (M.A.C) in San Antonio.
