

Eva Mae Ellerbe, born on July 21, 1923, in Epps, Louisiana, went to be with Jesus on March 4, 2001. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oliver S. Ellerbe, Sr., who died June 19, 1994, and one son, David Ellerbe, who died in July 1995. She had 13 children, 6 daughters and 7 sons. Her survivors are Eva Schaake and husband Ken, of San Antonio, J.R. Ellerbe and wife Jan, of Livingston, Carolyn Hamilton and husband Oscar, of Pasadena, Oliver Ellerbe Jr. and wife Linda, of Rosenberg, Pat Chavez and husband Hector, of San Antonio, Larry Ellerbe and wife Debbie, of Brenham, Kathleen Malota and husband Barney, of Seguin, Edward Ellerbe of Wallis, Roy Ellerbe of San Antonio, Ronnie Ellerbe and wife Robin, of Willis, Judy Williams and husband David, of San Antonio, Angie Thompson and husband Alan, of Fort Worth; countless number of grandchildren and great grandchildren and many, many friends who just had to meet her to learn to love her. Her life revolved around her children and their children. She loved family gatherings. She was a devout Christian and reflected love to all that knew her. Her favorite pastime was to fish and to watch football on television. She was an excellent cook and would have been world famous for her "Mama-made" biscuits if all the world could have experienced them.
