Eva Dean (Richards) Keener, age 92, of San Antonio, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 2, 2025. Born on September 13, 1932, in Gonzales County, Texas, she was the beloved daughter of Maud Irene (Taylor) and Arthur F. Richards.
In 1948, Dean married the love of her life, Waymond Keener, with whom she shared 51 wonderful years. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and love, raising two children and creating a home filled with warmth and lasting memories.
Dean worked for North East Independent School District as an elementary school secretary for 28 years before retiring in 1991. In retirement, she found joy in her church community and took great pride in attending the many activities and milestones of her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her greatest happiness came from time spent with her family, and she cherished every visit and gathering.
Dean was preceded in death by her devoted husband, Waymond Keener, and her beloved son, Terry Keener.
She is survived by her loving daughter, Cindy Bagley (husband Bill); daughter-in-law, Susan Keener; 10 grandchildren, Todd Keener (wife Tammy), Kristine Reid (husband Brandon), Melissa Williamson (husband Kyle), Dustin Keener (wife Missy), Jason Bagley (wife Cyndy), Keri Bagley, Les Bagley (wife Kristi), Evan Bagley (wife Amanda), Chris Brown (wife Tiffany), and Stephanie Guajardo (husband Jake); 21 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; sister-in-law, Betty Keener; brother-in-law, Bobby Atkinson; and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members, and cherished friends.
Dean’s kind spirit, warm heart, and unwavering love for her family will be remembered and missed by all who knew her.
The family will receive friends at Porter Loring North, 2102 N. Loop 1604 E., San Antonio, TX 78232 on Wednesday, August 13, 2025, beginning at 12:00 p.m, with a funeral service to start at 1:00 p.m.
Interment will immediately follow in Mission Burial Park North, F 20900 S I-10, San Antonio, TX 78257.
