

Eva Lorraine Berry Stevenson went home Monday, April 29, 2013 after a long illness. She was surrounded by her family. She was known and loved by so many and each had their special name for her; Mrs. Stevenson, Bobo, Coco, Eva Lorraine, Rainey, Mom and Second Mom were a few. Lorraine was born on a snowy day in Salado, Texas on January 4, 1927. After moving to Corpus Christi in 1942, Lorraine met Charles H. Stevenson, Jr. They were married on April 27, 1952. They were blessed with 30 years together until Charles' death in 1982. Lorraine was so very kind and gracious and always so well dressed. She loved playing golf and was always color coordinated with her matching pink hat, pink top, pink shorts, pink socks and her pink golf balls. She also loved to entertain. Her kitchen was always filled with family, friends and laughter as she slowly prepared the most marvelous meals that were traditionally not served until the proper hour of 10:00 pm. Her life was dedicated to doing for others. Lorraine is survived by her amazing sisters, Martha "Ditty" George of Corpus Christi and Reba Nell "Ricki" Migues of Decatur; her children, Deborah Lorraine Stevenson (Calvin Michael) and Wyatt Becker Stevenson (Pamela) both of San Antonio; her grandchildren, Michael Brandon Snyder (Kristi Kollatschny) of Kingwood, Heather Lorraine Sullivan (Joel) of Corpus Christi, Brayton Charles Lee (Erin) of College Station, Meagan Leigh Stevenson and Kevin Charles Stevenson of San Antonio, Nicholas Alexander Michael and Christian Thomas Michael (Tonya) of Austin; her great grandchildren, William Braxten Sullivan and Ethan Eugene Sullivan of Corpus Christi. She is also survived by her long time partner, James W. Wray, and so many loving nieces and nephews and many, many wonderful friends. The family would like to thank Texas Hospice and Nurse Next Door for the marvelous team that they created to love and care for Lorraine and keep her safe and comfortable. A memorial service is planned for her in Salado, Texas on May 25, 2013 at 12:00 noon at the Salado Cemetery. Following with be a celebration of her life at the Stage Coach Inn Restaurant.
