The world lost a little spark when Evalina gracefully took her final bow. Known for her impeccable style, her strength, courage, and her love for her family, she lived every day with boldness and purpose, right down to her signature hairdo and leopard print accessories.
Always a hard worker, she was an independent and determined woman who taught her daughters resilience and taught her sons strength. Never one to compromise, she stood strong in her values and her beliefs. One look from her beautiful green eyes and a subtle head nod could tell a thousand words.
She was the heart of her family: a mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother who was loved more than she could have realized. She taught those around her that grace and grit could exist in the same breath, and that a touch of lipstick could brighten even the hardest day.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Juan & Avelina Garza and her son, Preciliano Medina.
She is survived by her children, Patricia Moreno (Juan), Diana Sanchez (Elisandro), Maria Theresa Suarez († Daniel), John David Guerrero (Gina), Miguel Guerrero, and Phyllis Leija; sister in law, Roberta Medina; twenty-one grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
A true original with striking green eyes, Evalina could be found tending to her much-loved lawn — always in something fabulous, of course — coaxing plants to life with the same care and devotion she gave to everyone around her. Her home is full of memories of laughter, music playing, dancing, and family gatherings.
Though her leopard robe may no longer flow down the hallway, her bold, beautiful, and unique spirit will forever walk beside us.
A visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 2525 Palo Alto Rd, 78211, on November 14, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A prayer service will begin at 7:00 pm
