

Evangelina Magallanes Ruiz, a lifelong resident of San Antonio, Texas, entered into eternal rest on June 19, 2026, at the age of 85. She was born on January 19, 1941, in San Antonio, Texas, to Adolfo R. Magallanes and Amelia M. Magallanes.
Evangelina was a devoted wife, loving sister, cherished aunt, and treasured friend whose life was centered on faith, family, and caring for those she loved. For 46 wonderful years, she shared a loving marriage with her beloved husband, Roland R. Ruiz, creating a lifetime of memories built on love, commitment, and companionship.
She found joy in the simple pleasures of life. Evangelina loved cooking and baking for family gatherings, spending time working word find puzzles, playing dominoes, and caring for her beloved dogs. Her warm heart, generous spirit, and nurturing nature made everyone feel welcomed and loved.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Rosa Maria Magallanes, Dolores Cardona, Deanna Gonzalez (Reynaldo); her nieces and nephews, Mario H. Magallanes (Veronica), Xavier Rene Magallanes (Armendina), Adolfo H. Magallanes III, Michael Gonzales, Chris Martinez, Melissa Martinez, Sarah Cardona, Sabrina Ruiz, Chrissy Ruiz; her great-nephew, Xavier Christopher Magallanes; her great-nieces, Victoria Nicole Magallanes and Madeline Rose Magallanes, she also leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will forever cherish her memory.
Evangelina is reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Roland R. Ruiz; her parents, Adolfo R. Magallanes and Amelia M. Magallanes; her brothers, Adolfo M. Magallanes Jr. and Alfredo M. Magallanes; and her brother-in-law, Simon Noel Ruiz.
Evangelina's kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family will be deeply missed but forever remembered. Her legacy of compassion, devotion, and strength will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
May she rest in eternal peace.
Visitation will be held at Funeraria Del Angel Trevino Funeral Home, 226 Cupples Road, San Antonio, TX 78237, US, on June 30, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 10:00 pm, with the Rosary at the same location on June 30, 2026, at 7:00 pm.
A Processional will depart from the funeral home at 9:30am for a Mass of the Resurrection that will take place at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, 1204 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237, on July 1, 2026, at 10:00 am, followed by Entombment at San Fernando Cemetery II, 746 Castroville Rd, San Antonio, TX 78237.
