

Evangeline graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in San Antonio in 1956. She worked for more than 25 years in the restaurant supply business at Ace Mart Restaurant Supply and Mission Restaurant Supply. She was also a member of the San Antonio Conservation Society and spent more than 40 years working as a volunteer at Night in Old San Antonio (NIOSA).
Evangeline was married to the love of her life, Alex, for 65 years and enjoyed celebrating her birthday on July 4th at Lake Travis, overlooking the lake and watching the fireworks. She liked to travel and enjoyed visiting casinos in Las Vegas NV, Eagle Pass TX, Coushatta LA, and Lake Charles LA. She also enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially during the holidays, playing the card game WIZARD. Another of her favorite pastimes was watching live shows of the Jersey Boys in various cities across the country.
She was preceded in death by her parents. Evangeline is survived by her husband, Alex Sanchez; her children, Phillip Sanchez, and Eva Marie Tavarez (Ronnie); her grandchildren, Alex Sanchez, Sabrina Sanchez, Vince Tavarez, and Ryan Tavarez; her siblings, Delia Perez (Mike) and Edward Willars (Tonia); and numerous nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers are son Phillip, daughter Eva Marie, grandsons Alex, Vince, and Ryan, and granddaughter Sabrina.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., on Monday, February 2, 2026, at Porter Loring Mortuary North, with a funeral service to follow.
