Evelyn, known to her friends and loved ones as "Stormy" was born November 7, 1930, in Chicago, Illinois, to Einar and Gerda Janneson. Einar and Gerda had emigrated to America from Sweden and when coming through Ellis Island the Clerk had "Americanized" their name as Johnson. Later they changed their name back to Janneson not realizing that Evelyns birth certificate still had her down as Johnson.
When Evelyn was 16, the family moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Einar was a master carpenter and cabinetmaker, and he took jobs making cabinetry for homes.
It was in Phoenix that she met her husband, Lawrence E. Clark Jr. from Albuquerque, NM. They were married on July 2, 1949.
Evelyn and Larry joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in 1967. Evelyn has served faithfully in many callings.
She is survived by her children: Gary S. Clark, of Tempe Arizona, Susan A. Slack, of New Braunfels Texas, and Kelly A. Garland of Colorado Springs Colorado. She also has 11 Grandchildren and 19 Great-Grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lawrence, two children, Scott and Douglas, and her sister Bernice Wilcox.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, August 6, 2022, 2:00 pm at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 1142 FM 1103, Cibolo, Texas for all those who wish to attend. Casket Viewing will be available 1 hour before the service.
She will be interred at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery, 1520 Harry Wurzbach Rd, San Antonio, Texas with her husband.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers a donation to the Charity for the Elderly sponsored by "We Care Mobile Health" be made.
To do so, go to their web site at https://www.wecaremhs.com/ and click on the donation button on their home page.
As a Woman, as a Wife, as a Mother, Grandmother, and Great-grandmother, she was an inspiration of Kindness, Compassion and Love, an example of Christlike Service, and she filled the home with joy and laughter.
