Evelyn Johnson married the love of her life, Carl R. Flynn on the 7th of December, 1968. Dedicated to each other in the name of God, their love held them together for 46 years of service and truth.
In 1978 they moved from Flint Michigan to Kansas City, Missouri where Evelyn Flynn worked at General Motors and later to work for Southwestern Bell in St. Louis. She graduated from Avila University, Kansas City, Missouri in 1979 with a degree in Management in Human Resources.
In the summer of 1987 the young couple moved to St. Louis, Missouri and in 1988, word of a child in Kansas City Missouri reached their ears and they completed their family by adopting a young orphan whom they named Christian Carl Flynn.
The Flynn's final move was in 1993 when Evelyn transferred with Southwestern Bell to San Antonio, Texas. She retired in 2004 from Southwestern Bell and started work as a Compensation Analyst in the Human Resources Department for the City of San Antonio. Evelyn faithfully served Jesus Christ as a Sunday school teacher for 15 years. As cell group leaders for over 12 years, she stood with her husband opening their home to all who come to fellowship and study the word of God.
She leaves behind a husband and son in the care of the Lord and a host of friends who will forever remember her smile, love and humility.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Monday, February 10, 2014, at the Cornerstone Church Vada Hagee Chapel.
