Anna Evelyn Weaver Lee, beloved wife, mother and grandmother, passed away on November 22, 2011. She was born in East St. Louis on June 15, 1914, the only child of Minnie Turner Weaver and Harold Earnest Weaver. Evelyn overcame a challenging childhood resulting from contracting polio in 1916 and went on to receive a degree from MacMurray College in 1936. She enjoyed a long teaching career and retired from Alamo Heights School District in 1979.
Her husband of 72 years, Richard E. Lee, predeceased her in 2010.
She is survived by her son, Richard E. Lee Jr.; daughter, Judy Lee Card, and grandsons, Christopher Lee Card and Joseph Scott Card.
We are grateful for the long happy life of this beautiful soul.
There will be a private burial at a later date at Sunset Memorial Park.
